Archivist
Program Description
The Merrick Archival Center is the repository for select, non-current, inactive, official College records of enduring value.
The College Archivist is charged with advising all College departments on types of official records that should be
- Sent to the Archives for permanent retention
- Maintained in the Department for a specific time period
- Disposed of when the Department has no additional need for them
In pursuit of this goal, the Archivist works with each department to develop a records retention schedule, which is then posted here and is also reviewed every five years. The Archivist also tries to contact new staff as appropriate to alert them to any retention responsibilities.
