Help With Your Classes

Settling In to Allegheny

Introducing - the Library Staff.

Please use the tabs on this page to see how to contact people in our various departments, and remind yourself what we look like!

  • Faculty Services Page
This site summarizes the library services available to faculty with more detail than we have here.
  • Materials can be Delivered to Your Building
Physical items which can be checked out such as books, videos and journals can be delivered to your building. Find more information about Faculty Delivery here.
  • Computing Help
Contact the User Services desk by phone, or enter your question on the Web HelpDesk
  • Instructional Technologists
Talk to Helen McCullough or Michael Hurley about Allegheny's resources for using technology in teaching and learning.
  • Need Your Own Allegheny Website?
The instructional technologists can help. Google sites are available and easy to use. If you want something more customized you can create your own on our webpub server.
  • Getting to Library Resources from Off-Campus
Links on our library pages should all work from off-campus. You will need to login with EITHER your name and employee ID number (see you ID card) OR your Allegheny email username and password. Instructions will appear when you use the links.

Help with Your Research

  • Research Help
The reference librarians can help you identify our databases and indexes. If we don't have what you need, please let us know (not promising we can get it, but we'll try)
  • Interlibrary Loan
Our ILL systems are called EZBorrow (for books) and ILLiad for everything else. This page has all you need to know to get started.
  • Subject Guides to Library Resources
Get a quick introduction to our resources in your field. And please help by advising us of other good sources we should include.
  • Purchasing
Recommend books, videos and other resources for library purchase. You can send in requests -- and we also send around slips announcing new publications available for your to select (aka "choice cards").
