LUNA Image Collections

Log In and Collection Choice

You must login to access Allegheny collections on LUNA

LUNA Link - click here for access on- or off-campus

In the upper right, Click Login

Use your Allegheny UserName and Password

You can then select the Collection you want on the Left

To search two or more collections at once, use the Advanced Search

 

What You Can Do in LUNA

SEARCH the images by many different characteristics, including

  • Artist (Creator)
  • Title
  • Location
  • Materials
  • Period or Style
  • Date

Expand images to see details and capture the detailed views.

Put selected images in groups to use as slide shows, or to export to Power Point.

Share your image groups with others - students, faculty, etc.

Annotate images and preserve those annotations.

Export images to create webpages.

Create collections of your own images for use in class -- with all the manipulation tools available to your collection.

 

 

LUNA Contents

LUNA has two major collections of images:

Allegheny College Arts and Humanities Collection -- This collection is being built by Allegheny Faculty to meet the needs of Allegheny classes in the Humanities.  Currently it has 30,000 images.  If you would like images added, please contact the Library Director.

The AMICA Collection -- we subscribe to this collection of art images from American museums.  Currently it has 20,000 images

If other collections would be appropriate to Allegheny needs, please contact the Instructional Technologists or Library Director.
