Improve Your Search Results

Use the following techniques in any database to improve your results:

Searching for phrases
  "musical analysis"
  "death and the maiden"

Searching for various endings of a word (truncation)

    opera* will find opera, operas, opera's, operatic etc.

Use Boolean Operators to improve results

OR IS MORE
       melod*  or  motif  either word will be retrieved

 

AND combines your topics            

         meditation  and  music*  both words must be in the result;     

 

 music and (brain or meditation  to combine related terms 

      

Begin with keywords, move to formal Subjects

   Find a good source with keyword searching-->
        Click on Full Record--->
                 Look for Subjects or Descriptors to 
                  " find more like this"
