For books about an author:  start with the LAST NAME, First Name format for your author in the LC SUBJECT search box.


         Subject Heading: Nordan, Lewis -- Criticism and interpretation

For books about a topic, start with keyword searches then identify the relevant subject headings from the results list:

             Subject Heading:  Civil rights movements -- United States 

 

You may also do a keyword search on your author's name to increase you results.
