Class Survey

Assignment:

Your assignment is to make a persuasive case for the significance of this leader’s work in a 5 page essay.  This essay should not be a biography, but rather an argument for the need to recognize the importance of this leaders work.  In organizing your essay, you should be sure to follow the principles of persuasive written arguments that we have covered this semester.

In performing your research, you should use at least 10 books, journal, newspaper, or magazine sources in researching your environmental leader.  These references should be denoted in the paper using in-text citations, and a reference list should be included at the end of the document.  You should follow APA formatting guidelines for the use of references in this assignment.

Finding Background Information

Conducting research is a complex process.  Developing a list of terms and relationships among those terms is part of developing a research strategy.  Reading background information may help you refine the questions you ask and may lead you to related questions as well.

Credo Reference is a good place to start.

Additional Reference Titles to Consider

Reference books are a special subset of Pelletier's collection. Here you will find specialized  dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, and other materials that provide authoritative background information on your topic. We also have some reference  "books" in electronic form. Here are some relevant  titles for your FS class
