Create a Booking for
Videos/DVDs
Allegheny faculty,
administrators and staff can now create a booking for videocassettes and DVDs
from our library’s collection. If you
need a film or documentary for specific classes or other special events, try using
the “Materials Self-Booking” feature on ALLECAT, the library’s on-line
catalog.
To create a booking use the
following simple steps:
Step 1: Find the
film or documentary in our on-line catalog.

Step 2: Click on
the “Book This Item” link under STATUS.
Step 3: You will be taken to a screen with three
frames.

a) The top frame lists the item you wish to book.
b) The center
frame provides a calendar that is color-coded to identify days for which this
item is available (in black), already booked (in blue), as well as days on
which the library is closed (in red).
c) The bottom frame is an “authentication” screen that
allows you to log into the “materials booking” feature.
Once you have determined
that the item will be available from the calendar, enter your name and college
ID number as a seven-digit number. If
you have an old ID card simply insert zeroes before your ID number. Click on the “submit” button.

Step 4: Choose a starting date for your booking period and
click on the “submit” button.

Step 5: You will then be given an option to add a note to
your booking request. You may wish to
identify the class for which you will be using the item or give instructions as
to how the item will be picked up. Then
click on the “submit”
Button.

You should receive a
confirmation that the item has been booked.
